Straight Up Pale Ale

Along with Charlotte Owen, Head of Customer Experience at HoenstBrew, I kickstarted the annual Women in Craft Beer campaign for International Women's Day. Since 2018, HonestBrew interviews 5 women in the craft beer industry from all over Europe, looking to increase exposure for females in the industry

We also support these exciting interviews with an event during the week of International Women's Day - in 2018 we held a beer tasting in our office. We tasted beers hand picked by the women we had interviewed, brewed by female teams and chosen by the women at HonestBrew, who also led the tasting

In 2019 we collaborated with Five Points Brewery and co-brewed a beer with them. We created a 'Straight Up Pale Ale', brewed by an almost all female team, with the intention of challenging people’s stereotypes and highlighting that no matter what your gender, sexual orientation or race, beer doesn’t subscribe to any societal norms. We celebrated beer - straight up and tasty - accessible to everyone and enjoyed by all.

We held an all female panel discussion at the Pembury Tavern to launch the beer and discuss the experience of being a woman in the craft beer industry. All proceeds from ticket sales wen to Rosa, a charity helping women and girls in need - the event was very well attended and I spoke as part of the panel.
